After 4 close calls, before 2014 Kingsmill Championship, Lizette Salas became a championship. This year, she is a defending champion. She wants to repeat the success of Cristie Kerr, who won her second (2009) and third (2013) championship. Recently Salas announced that this championship make her happy and when she walks around Kingsmill, she is walking with her head up. The Kingsmill Resort, and its River Course is a tough challenge for all golfers, but Salas want to use the same strategy she used a year before. If it was successful once, there are high chances it will be successful again.
Her strategy from last year included fairways and she tried to roll as many putts as she could. Also, it is very important to minimize mistakes, especially those coming down 15, 16, 17 and 18. At the Volunteers of America North Texas Shootout, the most recent stop in the tour, Salas finished T20. Despite this, Salas is happy and satisfied for those she saw on the course. Salas said that she made several changes and shot 3 under in the final round of Dallas. She is trying to be stress free and to do the right things.
